Prof YANG Yijian

Assistant Professor, Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, CUHK

Professor YANG Yijian is a member of the International Society for Posture and Gait Research (ISPGR) and the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), Board Director of the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise (ASAPE), former Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, recipient of Mitacs Canada internship award (2015-2016) and Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research fellowship award (2016-2019).


Professor Yang directs the Sports Biomechanics and Injury Prevention Laboratory at the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, CUHK, which studies musculoskeletal biomechanics related to human health and mobility. As the principal investigator, he has been awarded multiple research grants from CUHK and RGC. He also serves as the Associate Director (technology) for the Physical Literacy Academy for Children and Youth (PLACY®).


He is a guest editor of Frontiers in Public Health and on the editorial board of Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences, Journal of Exercise Science & Fitness, and Injury Medicine.
